What is Enactus?
Enactus is an international organization which promotes sustainability, entrepreneurship, and creativity for students all around the world. this organization offers the opportunity for student projects to be funded by some great partners including PC Financial, TD, and RBC.
What are Project Accelerators?
Project accelerators are guidelines for projects which students will carry over their existing projects or create new projects based off of. project accelerators offer the shaping of what the project should address and what problems it should aim to solve. there are two phases of submissions for these accelerators released annually. Phase 1 takes places in September and phase 2 takes place in October.
What are Impact Challenges?
Impact challenges narrow the goals of students’ projects which they have developed based on the project accelerators. the impact challenges will be what the groups competing in regionals will be categorized under. some impact challenges are specific to help the students’ project showcase their metrics while other impact challenges are less niche to help projects with broader impacts compete equally.
What are Regionals?
Regionals is a competition which takes place amongst different areas of Canada, like Atlantic or Central Canada. different Enactus groups around Canada will compete with their projects representing their respective university. this year, regionals will take place in march of 2024. regionals involves live presentations by the teams showcasing their impact on their community through their project and the winners of this competition will move on to the nationals exposition / competition later on in the year.
What are Nationals?
Nationals are a larger competition with all groups competing from Canada amongst one another. This exposition takes place over a 3 day event unlike regionals which is shorter! nationals competitors will also present live, but longer, presentations to the Enactus panel of judges. the winners of this competition will be named “national champions” and will move on to compete in the Enactus World Cup amongst international Enactus teams who also won their nationals competition.
